SAMEA : Association Administrator
Summary Statement of the Position
The SAMEA Administrator will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks to promote and achieve the objectives of the Association as guided by the SAMEA Board, SAMEA Memorandum of Incorporation, policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that the day to day activities of SAMEA are executed effectively in compliance with the directives of the Board and the latest strategic plan of the Association; organising board meetings; member services; communicating with partners; tracking monthly expenditures and other financial tasks. The Administrator will also support the development and maintenance of office systems necessary for efficient administration. The Administrators will also play a key role in helping the board to organize SAMEA’s biennial conference and capacity building workshops.
Competence Requirements for this Post
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least three years of experience in in project or public administration.
- A high standard of verbal communication and writing skills
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
- Relevant financial management and accounting skills
- Time planning, management and self-motivation in order to achieve required position standards
- Valid work permit or be legally able to work in South Africa.
The position is based in Gauteng. Candidates should be able to work from home based on an agreement with the board. Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with or have some experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, and/or have worked with a voluntary organisation, think tank or academic institution.
SAMEA offers a competitive salary. The candidate will be required to work 4 days a week.
