Office of Evaluation of the World Food Programme: Evaluation Officer
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill the position of Evaluation Officer at the P4 level, based in the independent Office of Evaluation (OEV) at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy. and reporting to the Director of Evaluation.
The main role of this Evaluation Officer will be to manage country strategy and programme evaluations, aiming to generate independent, credible and useful evaluation evidence by assessing the performance and results of WFP country strategic plans.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in International Development, Economics, Social Science or other relevant field, or First University degree with an additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience: Minimum 8 years’ of relevant professional experience both in the field and in Headquarters in international development or humanitarian work, evaluation and/or policy studies. Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing and/or conducting country strategy and programme evaluations in diverse humanitarian and/or development contexts.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese. French and/or Spanish speaking skills are highly desired.
