National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT) : Data Analyst position
DATA ANALYST (FIXED TERM 12 MONTHS RENEWABLE)
The National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT) wishes to appoint a qualified candidate to the post of Data Analyst at its Head Office in Centurion, South Africa. The incumbent will provide data analysis and coordination services across programmes. For more details on the scope of NECT’s programme activities please refer to www.nect.org.za
1. Key tasks will include the following:
i. Develop and manage a repository of all NECT interventions and support data.
ii. Develop and manage a data portal for the Integrated District Improvement Programme.
iii. Establish and manage programme-specific databases.
iv. Support Division 1 (District Policy, Planning & Programming, Foundations of Learning & Monitoring Research & Feedback).
v. Support and manage data collection planning, processing, and administration.
vi. Clean, analyse and synthesise data for reporting.
vii. Prepare data for presentations and publications.
viii. Engage with partners and funders on specific data related initiatives (e.g., ETDPSETA Indicium design/ move to online).
2. Relevant knowledge, experience, skills, and competencies required:
i. A background in analysis or analytics is required.
ii. Willingness to work with education-related data.
iii. Knowledge of database development and management and data visualisation.
iv. Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques.
v. High-level proficiency in the use of Excel, MS 365 and Power BI is essential.
vi. Ability to use statistical packages.
vii. Experience in managing data capture, cleaning, analysis, and development of high-quality reports.
viii. Ability to advise project teams on data requirements and reporting.
ix. Development of data dashboards.
3. Education/Qualification and Experience Required:
i. A degree or a higher qualification in Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/ Informatics or a related field is preferred.
ii. A minimum of 2 years work experience.
iii. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
iv. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, working in a high-pressure environment, flexibility, confidentiality, and initiative.
v. High numeracy skills, high attention to detail, analytical, articulate, effective interpersonal and communication skills.
