Background

RAI brings critical services and expertise to confront some of the greatest challenges facing the world today. We engage in immediate response initiatives to support people affected by conflict, civil unrest and disasters. We partner with governments, donors, private sector and civil society to develop solutions that lead to a sustainable, real-world impact. Our services are based on the fundamental needs of the people we assist and include humanitarian assistance, stabilization initiatives, capacity building, technical expertise and advisory, and development programs. Our focus areas include Correctional Services, Justice Sector Reform, Transnational Law Enforcement, Humanitarian and Refugee Assistance, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Terrorist Financing.


Minimum Requirements

  • University Degree in relevant field
  • 2 Years’ work experience 
  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans 
  • Experience working with international donor requirements, such as United Nations, USAID and other U.S. Federal grants, or other governmental or international NGO partners
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with proven ability to deliver quality written and visual products
  •  Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Preferred Requirements

  • Cape Town based
  • 10 Years’ experience 
  • Qualifications in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Experience with complete project lifecycle: proposal development, implementation, monitoring & evaluation assessment, impact analysis 
  • Association with a M&E body such as SAMEA or equivalent

Roles & Responsibilities

Proposal Development Support: Provide M&E support to the RAI business development team to ensure that monitoring and evaluation considerations are accurate and appropriate for grant proposals. Draft M&E plans, Theory of Change and Logic Models to support proposal activities, outcomes, and impact. 

 Project Support: Review RAI’s ongoing project M&E plans and subsequent periodic reporting to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. 

 Training: Provide in-house M&E training to RAI headquarters and project staff. Assist in the development of M&E policies and procedures. 

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate to qualifications and experience.

RAI and Consultant will agree on a reasonable hourly, daily and/or fixed per project rate.
