Background

Due to a growing demand, JET Education Services seeks to appoint a second Specialist Manager to join its’ Monitoring and Evaluation Division to take the lead in delivering high quality M&E work which supports evidence based approaches to education policy, planning and implementation and sets high quality standards for the education sector. A permanent employment contract will be offered subject to a three month probation period.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Education

  • Post Graduate Qualification (Masters preferred, qualification in M&E preferred, other relevant disciplines include research psychology, development studies, economics, statistics, education)

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-8 years in a similar environment, with at least 3 years management experience.

Required skills

  • Conceptualisation of M&E assignments, Theory of Change/M&E framework development,
    Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
    Report writing, data visualisation, presentation
    Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects at one time
    Results oriented
    Good interpersonal skills
    Deadline driven, problem solving ability, conflict resolution
    Verbal and written communication skills
    Client liaison
    Project management
    Financial management, team and people management.
    Knowledge of: M&E, the education sector, JET strategy, business plan and policies.

Attributes

  • Ethical, attention to detail, diligent, honesty and integrity, professional.
    Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing essential;
    Ability to communicate in other South Africa languages would be an advantage.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Proven skills in organization, including time management.
    Ability to work confidently and productively on own initiative, and manage a diverse and demanding workload to meet deadlines.
    Willingness to work overtime as and when project demands require it, within reason
    A valid drivers’ license, ability to drive a manual motor vehicle and willingness to travel.
