Prof Victor Naidu: Chairperson

Victor Naidu, is an experienced public servant with 35 years in the public service. He holds a Doctorate in Education. Currently he is the Director at Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation responsible for providing leadership and coordination of Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation capacity development interventions in the government sector. He has contributed in growing the M&E sector by serving as Professor at School of Public Administration, University of Fort Hare where he coordinates the Post graduate diploma in M&E at the University of Fort Hare, supervises post graduate masters and doctoral student dissertation at School of Public Administration. As International Evaluation Technical Advisor provided technical advice on strengthening government PM&E systems in developing countries.

He is a legacy Board member of the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association, he served as SAMEA Conference chair in 2017.The SAMEA Board recognized his contribution at the 2019 SAMEA Conference Awards by giving him an award for outstanding contribution for growing the Monitoring and Evaluation sector . He previous work included being a Director at the National School of Government where he managed the design and development of accredited monitoring and evaluation training programmes.

His previous work also included being a Deputy Director at the Gauteng Department of Education responsible for coordinating the development of teacher - learner support materials, teacher in service education, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of curriculum. He also worked at the South African Qualification Authority were he supported the National Standard Body to guide the setting of qualification standards on the National Qualification Framework. He started his career as an educator in a township school in Kwa Zulu Department of Education.
