Andy Rowe Seminar Series
The South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association, in conjunction with the South African Public Service Commission, hosted a seminar series with world renowned evaluation expert Andy Rowe earlier this year. Andy Rowe has thirty years experience as an economist and evaluation consultant in North America, Europe, South Asia, the Western Pacific and the Caribbean. He now works primarily in the resource and environmental sector in the U.S., on urban environmental development assignments in India and community development and coastal conservation in the Western Pacific. He has a PhD from the London School of Economics and is a former President of the Canadian Evaluation Society.
His current assignments include evaluations for the Packard Foundation Conservation and Science program, the US Environmental Protection Agency, the World Bank, US Department of the Interior, and for the UK Department of International Development. Before moving to the U.S. Andy evaluated the consequences of unsustainable resource exploitation efforts such as closure of the Atlantic Groundfish Industry and cessation of a commercial Salmon fishery on Canada’s east coast.
Andy's presentations can be downloaded below. DVDs of his seminars and Q&A sessions will be available at the next SAMEA AGM in August 2010. Orders can be placed with Refilwe (info@samea.org.za)
