This position provides a lot of scope for someone who is interested in gaining project management experience. You will work primarily for the director but also liaise with project managers, external suppliers and the accountant.

The position is based in our offices in Cape Town CBD.

Interns may either have the opportunity to work in specialised fields (data collection, quality control, data management) or generalise across areas. The expectation is that interns are adept at managing practical aspects of research – putting theory into practice. In addition there are a number of thematic areas related to Quality of Life studies that interns will need to conduct research on. There are opportunities for both quantitative and qualitative researchers to gain experience.

Primary duties:
• Conduct desk-top research including literature reviews and analysis of secondary data;
• Design and implement primary data research projects including surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviewing;
• Assist with all research functions and relevant project administration.

You will need to be proficient in MS Excel and MS Word and possess confident writing and presentation skills in English. It will be an advantage if you are familiar with Atlas TI or SPSS depending on your research interests, though we will provide training in relevant research techniques and software packages as part of your experience.
