The
first South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA)
conference has been presented as part of SAMEA’s mission to cultivate a
vibrant community that supports, guides and strengthens the development
of monitoring and evaluation in South Africa. The conference provided a platform for interaction
and information-sharing among all those interested in monitoring and
evaluation. Pre-conference professional development workshops Aims of the conference Conference theme Within
this broad theme we focused on: the utilization of
M&E practices and findings in programme development, management and
implementation; knowledge management within organizations and
programmes; the challenges of building evaluation systems for tiered,
multi-sectoral and multi-partnered programmes; and building evaluation
capacity. Pre-conference professional development workshops were held over 26 - 28 March 2007.
The conference convened under the theme ‘Monitoring and Evaluation in Action’.
