Capacity Building for Monitoring and Evaluation Within The South African Government
SAMDI's LAUNCH OF THE MONITORING AND EVALUATION CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME SAMDI launched its M&E Curriculum at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria on the 1st of April. This follows on the initial announcements made at the 2007 SAMEA conference, and the Learning Network Event hosted in November 2007. You might be interested to refer to the presentations delivered by Dr. Mark Orkin and Mr. Oliver Seale (Minister Fraser Moleketi’s Speech will be posted when it is made available) that introduces the SAMDI training model, as well as the specifics about the M&E training intended for Government Officials in South Africa. The launch was publicized as follows: The South African Management Development Institute (SAMDI) has been tasked with designing and implementing appropriate training programmes in support of the Government-Wide Monitoring and Evaluation System. As outlined in the Governance and Administration Cluster's Programme of Action, the specific objectives of this intervention are:
SAMDI hereby announces the official Launch of M&E Capacity Building Programme hosted by Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi. The Minister delivered the keynote address which was followed by presentations on the role of the Academy in M&E capacity building and the M&E curriculum development process. Note: The Copyrighted Curriculum Framework is available on request from SAMDI. A process is being implemented to develop a database with contact details of potential service providers. It is anticipated that providers selected to deliver this course on behalf of SAMDI will need to meet rigorous selection criteria and will have to attend a train-the-trainer course.
