EES BIANNUAL CONFERENCE

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE: EVALUATION IN GOVERNANCE, DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESS

The EES Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the next EES biennial conference will be held in Portugal from the 1st till the 3rd of October 2008.

The conference will comprise keynote speakers, plenary and parallel sessions, networking opportunities and social events. The main programme will commence at 19.00 on Wednesday 1 October and close with a reception at 18.00 on Friday 3 October. The conference will be preceded by a programme of Pre-Conference Training and Professional Development Workshops commencing on Tuesday Morning 30 September and closing at 16.30 hrs on Wednesday 1 October (4 half day sessions).

Conference Registration

The conference fees are set as follows:                                                                   

EES individual members:                                     400 euro + 21% VAT
New EES individual members*:                            400 euro + 21% VAT + EES membership
Employee** of EES institutional members:            400 euro + 21% VAT
Non-EES members:                                           525 euro + 21% VAT
Early-bird discount until May 1st:                         50 euro + 21% VAT

*   EES individual membership fee is 95 euro (no VAT added)
** Per institutional member maximal 5 employees can profit from the discounted EES conference fee.

As of March 7tht, you can pre-register online for this conference and profit from the profitable early bird fee of 50 euro (until May 1st).

Programme

The main programme will commence at 19.00 on Wednesday 1 October and close with a reception at 18.00 on Friday 3 October.

Pre-conference workshops

The conference will be preceded by professional development training sessions on September 29th and October 1st. Led by international experts in the field of evaluation, the workshop programme will be made up of a number of different training and professional development modules. Bursaries

A limited number of bursaries will be available upon request to enable people from Eastern Europe and from developing countries, as well as others who may require financial support in order to be able to attend and to participate in the conference.

Social Events

A range of social events will be available to conference participants. These will complement the working sessions, providing an opportunity for relaxation and to facilitate networking, including an opportunity to chat with old friends and to meet new people from across Europe and indeed from around the world.

Hotel Reservations

A wide selection of hotels at discounted rates located close to the conference venue and / or in the Centre of Lisbon can be booked. Further information will follow soon.
